Keri Mandell

Yoga Instructor / Triathlon Coach

I’m Keri Mandell, known as the “Iron Yogi” — a yoga teacher and studio owner, running and triathlon coach, and lifelong fitness enthusiast. My journey began in education as a special education teacher, learning consultant, and school administrator, but over time I felt called to shift my path. Today I combine my teaching roots with my passion for yoga and fitness, helping others reconnect with their bodies, push their boundaries, and discover what they’re capable of.

Fitness and yoga are more than activities for me — they’re ways to express gratitude, build resilience, and find presence. Yoga grounds me, teaching breath, alignment, and balance, while endurance sports challenge me to go beyond perceived limits. Over the years, I’ve embraced adventures such as completing my first Ironman in 2018, the World Marathon Challenge in 2020 (7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days), the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim in 2021, my first 100-mile ultramarathon in 2022, Ultraman races in Arizona and Florida, and placing third female overall at the Ultraman World Championships in Hawaii.

As a coach, I believe in meeting people where they are and helping them grow from there. My style blends structure with flexibility, weaving in mindfulness, strength, and recovery to create sustainable progress. I encourage my athletes and students to dream big, lean into discomfort, and trust the process — whether that means crossing a finish line, finding balance on the mat, or simply showing up with consistency.

I also love creating opportunities for people to step outside their routines and immerse themselves in transformation through retreats. Hosting retreats around the world allows me to combine movement, mindfulness, adventure, and community — giving people the chance to reset, connect more deeply with themselves, and return home inspired.

Alongside these personal milestones, I’ve founded Empower Yoga and Empower Training & Retreats, coached athletes of all levels, presented at festivals, and partnered with brands like lululemon, Honey Stinger, and Skratch. I’ve also dedicated time to fundraising for causes close to my heart, including the American Cancer Society, Autism Speaks, Special Olympics, and Girls on the Run.

Every day, I strive to live by the mantra: “It’s a great day to be alive.” My mission is to inspire others to step into their power, challenge their comfort zones, and live fully — with strength, purpose, and joy.

Keri’s favorite quote:

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – Neale Donald Walsch

Amy Mason

Endurance/Performance Coach

Amy has competed in a variety of events including 5ks, 50ks, marathons & IRONMANs around the globe, qualifying for The Boston Marathon, USAT Nationals Championships, Ironman 70.3 World Championships, and the Ironman 140.6 World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. After years of competitive training, Amy earned a Level II Coaching designation with USA Triathlon, a distinction shared with only approximately 200 fellow coaches. She has also earned certifications from USA Swimming & USA Track & Field. She graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Journalism, Psychology, and Women’s Studies and a Master of Athletic Leadership/Sports Psychology from Rider University.

Amy is a fervent proponent of understanding and actively training the mental as well as the physical aspects of performance. Her passion is the art & science of endurance and motivation-concepts like flow, grit, perseverance, & resilience— and how to use empirical data to optimize individual peak performances. Her focus is helping athletes bridge the gap between competence and confidence, effectively managing stress and anxiety, and achieving mental, physical, & emotional balance. Training should fit into your life and be fun and rewarding— not a chore. Our minds and bodies are capable of extraordinary things when we promote synergy. Understand the process… enjoy the journey…achieve your goals!

When not racing or coaching, Amy loves traveling and motorcycling with her retired US Air Force husband. Excursions include the Italian Dolomites, the Swiss Alps, Colorado, & California and exploring our amazing National Park System. She is a frequent race, community, & animal-shelter volunteer and former coach for Girls on the Run. You’ll often find her hitting the trails with her Border Collie Scout.

Favorite Quotes: “Most of us never reach our potential because we fail to take advantage of our brains’ capacity to respond when pushed.” -Dr. Anders Ericsson.

…and the wisdom of Coach John Wooden: “Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.”

Angelique Flynn

Yoga Instructor

Right after graduating Penn State in 2001 with a degree in English, Angelique Flynn took her first yoga class with her mom, as a way to spend more time together.  She fell in love with the practice, but did not make it a regular part of her fitness routine until she found Hot Vinyasa in 2013.  She was instantly obsessed and submerged herself in everything yoga by joining a work exchange program at her local studio and eventually traveling around the world on yoga retreats.

She committed to a 200-hour certification with Dana Hot Yoga in Bala, PA in 2015 as a way to enrich her own understanding of yoga and dive deeper into her practice.  After teaching her first class, she knew in her heart that anyone – no matter what age, experience, or body type – could enjoy the benefits of a regular yoga practice and made it her mission to reach as many people as possible.  Within just one year, Angelique left her career in business development to teach yoga full time. Angelique just completed her 500 hour certification this summer from My Vinyasa Practice.

In addition to teaching Hot Vinyasa, Angelique also teaches Gentle Yoga, Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Kids Yoga, and Hot Power Fusion. She is always seeking opportunities to learn more so she can help more people find peace and joy through yoga. She aims to challenge and empower her students to find courage on and off their mats.  Angelique is thrilled to join the emPower Yoga community.

Marina Chertkov

Yoga Instructor

Marina became deeply connected with “something inside” rather than “what an eye can see” through the pregnancy and birth of her first child. This experience brought her to her first meditation practice at Buddhi Yoga Center in Moscow, Russia, 30 years ago. Since then she traveled the world and continued to acquire knowledge of spiritual traditions originating from ancient India, China and Mexico. Marina is a certified 200-ERYT and 300-hour Tantra yoga teacher, Universal Healing Tao and Tao Yin instructor and Chi Nei Tsang (energy healing bodywork) practitioner. Marina has studied with Vladimir Antonov, Carlos Castaneda, Mantak Chia, Kevin Gardiner, Rebecca and Dean Lerner, Faeq Biria and many other amazing teachers in the US and abroad. Her classes combine three components, which she believes are important for anyone interested in a healthy lifestyle and spiritual development: meditations from different traditions around the world, techniques for transformation of negative emotions into positive energy and posture practice connected with breath, movement and correct alignment of the body.

Rebecca Zegas

Spin Instructor

Rebecca is a certified Spinning® instructor who began teaching locally in 2016. She brings her motivational, upbeat energy to every ride. She loves combing her passions of supporting others and group fitness to inspire others to push past limits and find joy in movement.

Vanessa Piepszak

Spin Instructor/HIIT Instructor

Vanessa has a 15 year background in teaching group exercise and spin. As a life long athlete, I bring intensity, rhythm, and motivation to every ride. You can expect a mix of endurance, strength, and speed drills, all synced to beat-driven music that’ll keep you moving and inspired. I am a Certified Strength and Condition Specialist (CSCS), ACSM – clinical exercise specialist, and Nurse Practitioner, with a passion for powerful playlists, heart-pounding intervals, and helping riders crush their goals—one pedal stroke at a time. I understand the importance of movement with a purpose focusing on form, technique and safety. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned spinner, my classes are all about high energy, inclusivity, and pushing past limits, together. My off the bike hobbies include: skiing, snowboarding, hiking, traveling, cooking, or saving your life in the ER!

Thomas Reilly PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, CSCS

Orthopedic Clinical Specialist
Sports Clinical Specialist

Thomas “Tom” Reilly is an Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapist at Princeton Sports and Family Medicine in Lawrenceville, NJ. Tom graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA where he obtained both his undergraduate and doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. He then completed a post doctorate at Harvard University.

After graduating Tom primarily worked with the sports and orthopedic population, including a stint with professional hockey teams. During his time at the Spaulding National Running Center, Tom treated runners and running-based athletes ranging in skill levels from first time runners to Olympic athletes. Here he focused on lower extremity biomechanics, with a special interest in the mechanics and performance of the foot and ankle joints, as well as the interplay between medicine and high level performance. Here he was also fortunate to author and co-author multiple papers on the health and wellness of the running athlete.

After a few years, Tom moved with his wife (who is also a physical therapist) to New Jersey. Here, when he is not working, he enjoys anything that gets him outdoors, including hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, running ultramarathons, doing triathlons, but mostly taking care of his Siberian Husky.

Emily

Yoga Instructor

Emily discovered yoga as a way to build strength, balance, and focus — both on and off the mat. A graduate of Empower Yoga’s 200-hour teacher training program 2025, she brings a grounded yet energizing approach to every class, blending mindful movement with physical challenge. When she’s not teaching, you can find her outdoors, spending time with her dog, or sneaking in a trip to the beach. Emily’s goal is to help students connect to their own power, presence, and peace through the practice of yoga.

Mary Quinto

Zumba Instructor

Mary is a former NFL Cheerleader, Division I athlete, and the proud owner of Just.FIVE.More. Personal Training. Her fitness journey began in college when she started running to lose weight. It wasn’t long before the Track and Field coach recognized her dedication and recruited her to join the track team as a sprinter. Today, Mary continues to compete in races. For her, running is not just a sport; it’s “medicine.” As she says, “I run with a purpose and am grateful that I still can!”

Mary’s passion for dance ignited at the young age of 9, inspired by the Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders she watched on television. In her late 20s, she fulfilled her childhood dream of dancing on the sidelines as a cheerleader. She spent two years as a Ben-Gal in Cincinnati and three years cheering for her beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

After her NFL career, Mary transitioned to a fulfilling role as a social worker, where she worked with children and adults with disabilities. Following a career break to raise her three children, she faced mental health struggles. To cope, Mary turned to weight training and running, ultimately deciding to pursue a career as a certified personal trainer.

Mary is also an active member of the NFL Alumni Association, which provides opportunities for former players and cheerleaders to engage in charitable organizations across the league. Whether through dance or fitness, Mary embraces every chance to give back.
